SUPPORT MY JOURNEY IN MAKING IT STOP
Dear Friends and Family,
I am asking for your support for a cause that I am truly passionate about. Ali has been living with Crohn's for the last 21 years. He is the 1 in 150 Canadians who have Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis.
With the generosity of donors like yourselves, research has come a long way. The landmark international study, the GEM Project (impact of genetic, environmental, and microbial factors on Crohn's) is underway at Mt. Sinai Hospital. Other research findings show that those with a genetic mutation on NOD-2 on Chromosome 16 have a greater likelihood of developing Crohn's.
On Sunday June 4th, I will be participating, together with my family, in the Gutsy Walk in Halton. Since the 2012 Gutsy Walk, I have raised over $42,000 and I have been the highest pledge-earner in Halton region for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Besides fundraising, I volunteer as a Gutsy Peer Mentor with Crohn's & Colitis Canada. This enables me to share my experiences and provide support to mentees. It is of utmost importance for the mentees to know that they are not alone in their situations.
I thank you kindly for your support thus far, and I am asking you to please continue with me on this journey. I can see a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel which hopefully will be a lightbulb moment for a cure in the near future.
Wishing you the best of health,
