Gutsy Walk 2017 - Gutsy Walk 2017
Welcome to the Schwartz Family page

Dear Family and Friends,

Canadians have more reasons to be concerned about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis than anyone else in the world. Not only do we have among the highest reported rates of these diseases in the world, the incidence of these diseases in children under 10 has almost doubled since 1995.

1 in 150 Canadians lives with these diseases and I can tell you first hand that this disease is something I will help find a cure for in my own lifetime!!!

When I was in my early 20's I became personally aware of this chronic life long disease.  I spent two weeks as a patient in Mt Sinai Hospital and began to learn how to cope and live with ulcerative colitis.  It's been almost 10 years since my last serious flare-up with the disease and I want to make sure I am personally doing everything I can to alter the future course of this chronic disease.  I joined the Board of Director's of Crohn's & Colitis Canada almost 5 years ago to focus my own time, energy and passion giving back to this important and very personal cause. I can speak first hand that there are extremely effective treatments available today, but a cure remains elusive. Ultimately a cure will only be found if enough funds are raised to support transformational research, patient programs, advocacy, and awareness so that every child and adult with these diseases can live life to the fullest, and ultimately, one day be cured.

On Sunday, June 4, 2017, I will participate in Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s Gutsy Walk. The walk is very important to me, which is why I’m asking you to be GUTSY and make a donationEvery dollar you donate counts towards Crohn’s and Colitis Canada’s most ambitious campaign yet.

All our love and thank you for the support,

Jeffrey, Jennifer, Adam , Cooper, Marlee & Dyllan
