Hello family and friends and acquaintances!!
About 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease (it actually runs in my family), and it has altered my life in ways that I never even imagined. The past few years with Crohn's has been a hell of a learning curve, seeing and feeling my body go through things that I wouldn't wish upon anybody.
There are no words to describe how my life has changed since being diagnosed with this chronic, incurable disease. I’ve had to make many sacrifices in my life since then, and so have those who help support and care for me. Between the days spent in bed due to severe fatigue and weakness, to the sleepless nights from intense pain and incontinence, I've had countless setbacks in my schooling, working, fitness, and general quality of life due to Crohn's Disease, and so have millions of people around the world.
Hospital visits and stays, endless doctor appointments and testing, taking handfuls of pills a day, and pushing through some of the worst pain I've felt in my life are what people with Crohn's Disease deal with on a daily basis. It’s safe to say life has been an adventure living with Crohn’s Disease, and with it being a disease that gets progressively worse with time I know this could just be the beginning of my journey with IBD.
IBD gets little to no attention so we GOTTA advocate, raise awareness, and show the world how strong we are my dudes!!!
My ultimate dream would be to find a cure for this damned disease, but even just raising awareness makes my heart happy; so please, please, please donate, share, and help spread the word on this shitty disease!!
And if you feel so inclined, even join us on this walk Sunday, June 2 !!!
THANK YOU!! :)
