Dear Family and Friends,
On Sunday June 2nd, it will be our 6th year participating in the Gutsy Walk. With your incredible support and generosity, our team has been able to raise over $76,000 for much needed research for Crohn's and Colitis Canada.
I am reaching out to you once again to support me and my family on our walk this year. We participate in the Gutsy Walk to raise money to help find a cure for Crohn's and Colitis. As most of you know, Samantha was diagnosed with colitis when she was just a baby. While overall, Sam has been doing extremely well, she has been having small signs of a flare. Additional medications have seemed to keep it at bay, but it's a constant struggle and we are always worried when the next flare might hit.
Our family is no stranger to this disease with my father-in-law battling it and ultimately battling colon cancer and defeating it like a champion. My husband also has ulcerative colitis which has affected him since his late 20s. I too have been struggling with the disease for almost two years. It is a terrible disease that is so unpredictable with no two people that are alike. We pray that Kyle will remain unaffected but it is a constant worry.
It is with the help of Crohn's and Colitis Canada and the Gutsy Walk, that we can really make a difference and help to find a cure for these horrible diseases.
I am reaching out to ask you for your support. Every dollar really does make a difference. Your donation will be invested in world-class research, empowering patient programs, advocacy efforts and elevating awareness.
Every hour of every day, one Canadian is newly diagnosed with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis. Together, we can move towards a future free of of these diseases.
Thank you for your support. And thank you for showing that you have the guts it takes to help find a cure.
With love and appreciation,
Jessica, Jason, Samantha and Kyle
